그루밍족이라는 용어 들어보셨나요? 패션과 미용에 아낌없이 투자하는 남자들을 일컫는 말입니다. 이제 미용은 남자와 여자, 성별을 넘나드는 자기관리의 개념으로 변화하고 있습니다. 그루밍족에 대해 조수빈기자가 알아봤습니다.

The man you see now is a rising Internet star. Kisoo Kim is a comedian and beauty creator. He attracts many people with his own unique makeup. It seems to be somewhat awkward that men wear makeup. However, it became a general trend nowaday.
Like Kisoo Kim, the men who invest lots of money and times on fashion and beauty are called Grooming people. Recently the market size for Grooming people has been growing steadily.
In fact, domestic markets for men’s cosmetics in the first half of this year increased by 15% in 2014, 22% in 2015, and 34% in 2016, compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the demand for barber shop, a grooming spot for men who want hair-styling, haircut and shaving fuss of chin and ears.
It is the early 2000s when men began to decorate themselves. As women actively advanced to the society, existing gender role has become ambiguous as well. The social perception that men should be tough and women should be pretty changed to the perception that women might be tough and men might be pretty. Now, beauty is no longer for women only. Rather, beauty become a concept of self-management regardless of gender

Nowaday, There are a lot of men who makes up for good images at interview. So I don’t think gender is important if men or women can hide their flaws through makeup and make themselves more attractive.
I think it’s really cool. Nowaday comedian Kisoo Kim is rising. He’s good at make up, and makes a make up tutorial video. It seemed to me that he looks more confident than before, and it’s good to him. And I think it’s better to dress up.
A rigid gender role become more flexible and thus the boundary between men and women become blurred. Knowing what fit myself and managing myself is no longer the matter of gender. This is DAU news reporter Cho.
