The Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS) and the Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity and Promotion(KADO) seek "Internet Volunteers" for 2008 for the Ninth Annual Korea Internet Volunteer Program. They will be sent to developing countries to support information-oriented education and to raise our nation's profile. DAU will also select and dispatch two teams of four this July and August, one to China, and one to Mongolia. DAU's teams will work for one month on basic computer--internet education, consolidation of PC and network, home page design and support, IT Korea advertisements, etc. They will provide good public relations for Korean culture as well as for DAU. Those interested (undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty / staff) can apply at DAU's Office of External and International Affairs (College of Humanities, Room 501, Phone 200-6442). Team applications (IT: 2 persons, language: 1 person, culture: 1 person) will be accepted from April 7 to May 23; individual applications will be accepted from April 7 to April 23. It is also possible to apply directly to KADO (https://www.kado.or.kr/). Round-trip airfare and about 615 dollars (based on a 25-day standard) will be provided. Undergraduates will receive two welfare service credits. Supplies and equipment such as laptop computer, digital camera, and teaching materials will be donated to the field organization after the volunteer activity.
