The interest of most young Korean people ordinarily lean too much toward American culture and Japanese culture. Now there is a chance to know about French culture LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE BUSAN, which is the 8th French Cultural Festival, has opened in Busan. Many events will be held such as, a play, a photo exhibition, a lecture, a piano concert, a book festival, a movie screening and a documentary in Busan from May 1st to June 13th.
PARIS LA METISSE is a photo exhibition which displays thirty five black-and-white pictures in real and unique reportage-style. It was exhibited at Yongdusan Park from May 7th to 25th. The Paris photos enable us to appreciate of the various aspects of 'the city of light, which give dreams and romance to all artists. PARIS LA METISSE is an international photo exhibition touring not only other countries but also Korea and cities such as Busan, Daejeon, Guangju, Incheon and Daegu.
Also, there were performances; Lecture of Jean-Luc Pouliguen, on May 12th, at Busan University of Foreign Studies, A piano concert of OLIVIER MOULIN on May 20th, at Moonhwa Hall, Shinsegae Centum City, Where are you going, de Marseille a Busan, which is a documentary on May 26th, in Cinema Park, Busan.
Lonesome French Cowboy, a guitar concert, will be held at Kyung-dong hall, Dong-A Univ. at six thirty on June 3rd. A musician, French Cowboy is planning to perform not only chanson but also Korean music and famous pop songs at our university. It is good chance to see and hear for Busan people, students and Francophiles.
Also Busan branch (in Seo-myeon) of Kyobo Book Center sells French books up to June 13th. French Stories, various modern music collective, is planning to open at Moonhwa Hall at Shinsegae Centum City. A one-man show of JOANNE LIM will open until June 13th at the French Culture Center.
French Culture Center is trying to introduce and announce French culture through festivals like LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE BUSAN. Lee Joo-hyeon, who is affiliated with the Center, said, "We open LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE BUSAN every May and try to announce by focusing on many events for a month. I wish that many students come to these events."
Usually, you can feel and experience about all things French, △Taking French class, Watching French TV programs, Enjoying French movie and borrowing DVD, and Reading French books and newspaper at the Center.
Let's enjoy France's unique culture as much as American culture and Japanese culture by attending the French festival's diverse events opening in Busan.
