Busan - the Foreign Students’ Entertainment Contest, promoting cultural exchanges, was held at Dau hall, Bumin campus. The contest was hosted by the Korea Immigration Service who served as a catalyst for the international gathering.
18 teams from 10 Universities including Dong-A University participated. Each team graced the contest with folk and instrumental performances. Grand prizer was ‘Hadanoguri’ team (Hotani Ayumi and ten others, Donga University), gold prizer winner was ‘Lubis Ratu Juwita Prima (Kyungsung)’ and silver prize winners were the ‘Wakenya Halisi’ team (Macharia Robert Wahinya and Kiiru Njoky Mbary, Kosin) and ‘zhu hao chen (Silla)’, respectively.
Kwon Oh-chang, president of Dong-A, encouraged international students saying that studying in Korea would be their most precious experiences and they, the participants, will be working on the world stage later.
Shimizu Misaki (Child and Family Studies 2), who participated as a ‘Dongasidae’ team said “in preparing for the contest, I could communicate with other University students in Korean. It was very nice and useful learning Korean.”
