From these finals on, it will become easier to check exam information and schedules because of the University’s brand-new inquiry system. By accessing Student Information, students can inquiry about their personal exams. Previously, there were inconveniences for students due to having to browse major and cultural courses’ separately. However, the new exam inquiry system allows for students to view things like exam time, location and professor’s name one week ahead, and can be printed from the website.
“We expect it to simplify access, reducing searching time for students and business process for staffs” said Kim Jung-hwa (the staff of Academic Affair). And Lee Jae-min (Architecture Engineering 4) said that he has had difficulties in checking his exam timetable. He also believes this new system has to be settled in well.
The fresh idea emerged from a student’s recommendation posted on the internet bulletin board. The student thought that the existing system seemed to have a lot of unnecessary difficulties that could be easily changed. The Academic Affairs department responded accordingly establishing the new system with the Information & Computer Center less than a month after the student’s idea.
The student who requested the new system explained that: “taking classes in four departments, required exam schedules from four different departments’ homepages respectively. It was a burdensome task that I felt could be changed, making it useful to other students, too.”
