Tuition has been frozen by the 5th Tuition Inquiry Commission (TIC) of Donga University last month.
The TIC which appropriates tuition had been held 5 times from Jan, 3rd to February 4th. Park Sang-gab (Dean of Student Affairs Office), Bark Hong-jun (Head of Planning Office), Hong Soon-koo (Dean of Financial Affairs Office), Seo Jung-chang (Dean of Secretariat), Kim Yong-sung (principal of General Student Council), Kim Koo-joon (sub principal of General Student Council), Chu Hun-bong (principal of College of Engineering Student Council), Heo Ji-sang (principal of College of Natural Sciences Student Council) participated in the TIC as members of the committee including Han Suk-jung (Vice President) who is the chairman of the committee.
In this TIC, student council members proposed 2.5%~1.6% tuition cuts on the grounds that it can be cut out school personnel pay and shared in court. On the other hand, school council members argued that the decline of education and lecture level caused by tuition cuts would damage students.
Kim Yong-sung (principal of General Student Council) said “as the period of freshmen tuition bill had begun from the day after the fifth council, we reached an agreement that froze tuition” And he said “through supplementary council we will try to cut the tuition.”
