 TO FIND THE TEA CLUB
'DA-YON'

Follow the sound of tea poured into a pottery. This reporter visited the tea ceremony club 'DA-YON'. Thirty years have passed since the club was founded. It is a meeting place for people who want to learn DADO to train their mind and body. Of course, it can be a place of friendship.
Every May, DA-YON visits famous tea-producing area in the region to have an event called JO-DA (造茶), which picks buds of tea. They found BO-SUNS green tea farm, but they failed to obtain the sprouts because there is a short crop of tea this year. Fortunately, we could take tea in wild tea field located nearby.

In winter, DA-YON visited Yu Gil Sam, who is member of the 2nd DA-YON and famous potter for 'ceramic powder (bio ceramic)' to observe pottery production. This event was preserved since the club's foundation. Thus in DA-YON, there are alumni who have not forgotten the club and have supported DA-YON.

The president of DA-YON said that not only Mr. Yu but also lots of club seniors take care of us. He recounted one member who said he was sorry for not participating in the last event but contributed by paying the activity fee. Such members made him feel appreciative.

Otherwise, DA-YON has no awards like other clubs. The reason is that in modern society, not only there are few DADO contests but DADO is an unpopular field with insufficient conditions for preparing the contest.

Although attracting new students was quite successful this year, students have low interest in tea. DA-YON'S DADO is easier than students might think. Go on an MT to the tea farm to pick the buds and feel happy drinking tea taken by themselves instead of using a tea-bag.

Finally he said, "I want many students to join us but please only students who have some interest in DADO are welcome."
The weather is getting cold. If comfortable floor sitting and warm wild flower tea draw you, how about  a visit to the DA-YON this autumn?
